Uses GMAC’s GMAT score concordance tables updated August 2026, based on the data period 1 July 2021 to 30 June 2026. GMAC rounds percentiles to the nearest tenth and updates them each year in the third quarter. It does not publish a Data Insights percentile table.

GMAT Focus total scores and percentiles

The GMAT Focus Edition has three sections, Quantitative Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning and Data Insights, each scored from 60 to 90. GMAC says each section counts equally towards the total, which runs from 205 to 805. Because the scale changed, an old score and a Focus score with the same number mean very different things.

Faz's rule

Set your target from the class profile on the Focus scale, not from an old forum number.

Ask most MBA applicants their target and you still hear 700. On the Focus scale that is roughly a 645 to 655, so a 655 is not falling short of 700, it is the same percentile. Look up the median of each school on your list in its latest class profile, and aim for the section where your percentile is lowest.
